Collaboration with Engineering Firms continues with “Design Together with Us” Event

Siziano (PV), May 26th, 2025 – Great success and participation for the “Design Together with Us” event, organized by MITA Water Technologies (MITA WT) on May 26th at its headquarters in Siziano, province of Pavia. The day was entirely dedicated to engineering firms, crucial partners who collaborate with MITA WT in designing wastewater treatment solutions, both in public tenders and as consultants for industrial end-users. The main objective: to present the company, its production capabilities, and technologies up close, putting professionals in the optimal position to learn about, specify in tenders, and promote MITA WT solutions.
MITA WT aims to build solid and lasting relationships with its strategic partners: for this reason, the event with engineering firms was a valuable moment for training, dialogue, and sharing objectives.
1. Technical insights and shared strategies
At the heart of the day was a packed agenda of targeted presentations aimed at illustrating MITA WT’s solidity, innovation, and future prospects, overseen by Gianluca Calvi (Sales Area Manager – Italy Industry) of MITA WT.
Tommaso Pittini (CEO) outlined the company profile: 50 years of history in water treatment, a headquarters in Siziano, province of Pavia, with about 35 specialists, spanning 1,000 m² of offices and 4,000 m² of warehouse space, complemented by a filter production plant also in Columbia, Missouri, USA. Pittini highlighted the consistent growth over the past ten years, the strategic role within the Axius Water group (following an initial partnership with group company Nexom), and the extensive technological portfolio and references: over 1,000 pile cloth media filters (more than 600 in Italy and over 400 exported) and more than 1,700 Biorulli® (over 1,200 in Italy and 500 exported) and Biocombi (more than 70 Biocombi® units) installed globally.
Paolo Bravin (Export Manager) then led a technical deep-dive on pile cloth media filters, based on studies by Davide Gardoni (Proposal Engineer) for the Italian market: he illustrated the advantages (deep bed gravity filtration, efficiency of submerged filters), sizing criteria, and the distinctive features of MITA solutions: from “Made in Italy” to rapid assistance service with in-house personnel, from design and construction managed in a single location to the capacity for customization for every plant requirement (over 1,000 installed filters are proof of this). His presentation on the new European Directive 2024/3019 was crucial, showing MITA WT technologies perfectly aligned with future regulatory requirements in terms of performance for small plants, storm overflows, nutrient removal, micropollutants, energy neutrality, and water reuse.
Service, maintenance, innovation, and safety aspects were central to the presentations by Marco Follini (Service Manager) and Paolo Pettoni (Technical Manager). Best practices for the care of Biorulli® and pile cloth media filters, the technical characteristics of different product series (including PEC and PPC models, in HD and FHD versions), solutions for operator safety, and innovations such as the remote monitoring system for predictive maintenance were discussed: a significant novelty that enables knowledge, control, and advanced machinery assistance.
2. The direct experience of "Made in Italy" production
After a light lunch, the afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, was dedicated to a tour of the production plant, led by Nicolò Sommariva (Operations Manager). This moment allowed participants to experience firsthand the construction quality of MITA equipment, observe the assembly processes up close, and appreciate the organization and efficiency of the production site.
Seeing where and how pile cloth media filters and Biorulli® are “born” can further strengthen the perception of the company’s solidity and reliability.
3. MITA WT: the partner for designing the future of biological treatment and wastewater filtration
The “Design Together with Us” event is just the first of many initiatives through which the company intends to support engineering firms, providing them with cutting-edge products, as well as comprehensive know-how and continuous assistance.
The company thanks all the professionals who participated with interest and enthusiasm, renewing the invitation to collaborate in the future for water resource management.
