The guarantee of a compact, easily transportable and installable system

1. Installation context

Padania Acque, a wastewater company based in the Province of Cremona, had a need to build a new wastewater treatment plant at Mirabello Ciria.

The project required a compact biological treatment system to handle a capacity of about 250 AE with a maximum flow rate of 12 m3/h and a black peak flow rate of 8.50 m3/h.

2. Proposed solution

To meet this demand, MITA Water Technologies has proposed the compact Biocombi© BC 15/2 biological wastewater treatment plant.

This solution integrates biological and tertiary treatment ,through a drum cloth filter, of wastewater into a single system, ideal for civil applications such as small communities. The Biocombi© BC 15/2 system offers outstanding performance by providing a total suspended solids (SST) removal of less than 15 mg/l and a reduction of BOD5 to less than 25 mg/l.

3. Key to success

The plant has proven its effectiveness in biological and tertiary wastewater treatment at the Mirabello Ciria plant. Due to its compact configuration, it provided a total suspended solids (TSS) removal of less than 15 mg/l, meeting wastewater quality standards. In addition, BOD5 was reduced to less than 25 mg/l, confirming the effectiveness of the solution proposed by MITA Water Technologies.

This plant was easily transported, installed and put into operation at the Mirabello Ciria plant due to its compactness and the service options offered by MITA Water Technologies. This case study highlights the ability of the Biocombi plant to provide biological and tertiary wastewater treatment in an efficient and compact manner to meet the needs of small communities.
